Translation

We are proud to hold both current ISO 9001:2000 certification and the BS EN 15038 Standard for Translation Services as a measurement of our commitment to quality. These internationally recognised awards measure our standards in Quality Management Systems and procedures, allowing us to be at the forefront of service and customer care.

London-based Atlas Translations is a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, the Association of Translation Companies and the Society for Editors and Proofreaders. These bodies monitor the qualifications and competence of members, and define codes of practice.

Atlas Translations recruits the best translators and will only work with other suppliers who can prove their competency in the service they provide. Our criteria are strict, and designed only to include those translators who have the qualifications and experience to undertake the work to the standard Atlas Translations demands.

All our work is completed by fully qualified, professional translators. Each translator specialises in a particular area, for example, legal translations, medical translations, software, marketing, financial translations or advertising.  We are currently able to offer a translation service in over 175 languages.

All the suppliers we work with are fully qualified in their field, are rigorously vetted and must be able to demonstrate the utmost competency in the services they offer.

The use of translation memory software allows our translators to create a linguistic database during the process of translation. So, if the same or similar source text is encountered in future translation work, our translators have the previously translated phrase at their fingertips. This ensures consistency in the use of terms, increased productivity and cost savings.

We have dedicated Project Managers who are responsible for looking after individual clients, to ensure consistency and continuity of service. The Project Manager responsible for the translation work will select suitable translators, who offer both the relevant language skills and qualifications and an expert knowledge of the subject area involved. When possible, we try to use the same translators for all work for each client, so that linguistic continuity and consistency are assured.
